Emotion is one of the ways through which people express their feelings. This may be revealed through the facial expressions and even actions displayed by people. There is a different level of how different people express their emotions. Women are considered to be emotionally weak than men. This is due to their nature of how they react to situations and circumstances that surround them. In as much some people find it easy to control their emotions by not showing an extreme reaction, some people breakdown depending on the level of the occurrence. it has however been considered to be the best way through which one can express their inner feelings and hence feeling free. Studies have revealed that people who are free at expressing their feelings have a tendency to live long and minimize on occurrences of stress and depression (Niedenthal, Krauth-Gruber & Ric, 2006). This is simply because they express their feelings publicly and hence finding the help and support that they need.
When in deep distress, anxiety or excitement it is easy for them to do things which they may not understand. It can have an effect on the mind and hence making some people to behave in a rather disgraceful manner. It may however be disastrous to the person expressing such emotions as it reveals the level at which they have been affected. Unless they are given some psychiatrist counseling, they may remain in a state of shock and denial for quite sometime. Positive and negative emotions alike may have dire consequences on an individual unless a corrective overcoming procedure is followed (Pettinelli, 2008). This is because some occurrences may be abrupt and hence getting people off guard. It is only when they get to fully express the grief or the excitement that they experienced. The healing and overcoming procedure begins when the individual express themselves emotionally.
