In the summer of 1776, America was declared independent and there was installed a legal document that would fully sustain its principles and freedom. The document insisted that people have rights, and that one of these was the right to wisely choose their superiors. Although this seems like a decision that is to be made by those who have the power to decide for the state, it is insidious to believe that all men should not have the right to vote and express their opinion.

Nowadays, America promotes the free speech, the ability to independently promote one’s ideas, as well as the freedom to express one’s opinions. This is the main reason why many come to the United States of America to live the “American dream”. In other words, the rights our ancestors have tried to fight for have been well preserved, and are available today as well.

Maybe the best example to complete my thesis is the fact that not only does the United States of America have a president of color, but the government also respects both men’s and women’s rights to have power. What else can be added in order to strengthen my idea other than this real fact? Just like the Declaration of Independence wrote, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

To sum up, not only did the people of the United States respect the Declaration of Independence that was thoroughly developed in 1776, but they also reinforced their beliefs by blissfully following the moral standings that it encouraged. From my point of view, this is something to be rewarded and praised, since if one country is able to promote unity, loyalty and fraternity between all its inhabitants, then this country has more values than ever imagined.
