Theoretical perspectives Introduction There are many Theoretical perspectives that have been researched. These perspectives generally try to come up with the best organization theory. In this essay I look at Hatcher and Cunliffe introduction on organization theory comparing it with Tsoukas and Knudsen introduction. The important of multiple perspective theory will be reviewed. Theoretical perspectives in an organization Some of the organization model views the organization as a combination of four elements which include social structure, culture, technology and physical structure.
These entire elements are integrated in the environment making it possible to achieve an organization perspective. According to there are three traditions that sum up the modern perspective which include postmodern, modernist and symbolic interpretative.
Modernist insists on structure control and hierarchy in an organization. Symbolic perspective is considered a more structured and a postmodern is what theories of organization generally aim at( Hatch and Cunliffe, 2006) These organization traditions are not necessary performed at the same time. It is believed that by integrating the multiple perspectives in the organization you are sure that you will be able to come up with different feature that will enable the organization to survival (Hatch and Cunliffe, 2006) Comparing Hatch and Knudsen theories on the organization theoretical perspective there seem to be some differences. Knudsen views focus on Meta theoretical perspective in an organization. He argues that for any organization there is need for relevant knowledge in all the organizations level.
Through brainstorming you are able to come up with a theory of a particular organization (Tsoukas and Knudsen, 2003). Conclusion Unlike Hatcher perspective on the four elements he views organization theory as a mental work thus the mete theoretical reflection. Generally the two views on the theoretical organization differ and therefore it is wise to use a combination.
