The design of the building has a great environmental effect. It has been designed a way that greatly consume energy and water. It also constructed in a way that leads to carbon dioxide emissions. The house has been design using special materials that includes straw bale. There is consideration of land plan, improved indoor quality air as well as monitoring. Eco friendly products have been used in the design. This include the harvesting of rain water and the use of natural light solar energy. The design is local since locally manufactured products have been used. These include the bamboo, cork and linoleum.
e² Design–“AdaptiveReuse in the Netherlands”
The adaptive reuse in Netherland a form of designs in the Dutch housing industry, and Its adopted in various housing sector in Netherland. This design involves a process of advocating for conservation,and adoption of heritage policies while designing and building houses. Adaptive reuse design mainly used in industrial, political, community buildings, for example, churches and palaces buildings. The design is more useful in reclamation of sites that previously considered as refuse and developing buildings in those areas. This form of design in Netherland, architects uses their innate design sensibility and furthermore, industrial land scape to come up with sustainable buildings known as Borneo Sporenburg in a site which abandoned. In addition, the design provides an alternative way of trapping suburban sprawl; it does this by providing room for maximizing spaces in buildings and at the same time maintaining privacy. The designers also use waterways as their main landscape element in the overall design.

On the other hand, energy harvesting from the windas described in the video is a form of design thatadopted in conversion of wind to electrical energy. The wind used to provide the much needed energy for the various sectors. Ric Butt – “Strine Design”
The term Strine in Ric Butt Strine Design represented Australia. The design had a logo that had used a platypus which referred the uniqueness of the creature that makes its residence. This is done by the creation of different burrows that had different purposes. Moreover, the use of the use of platypus referred to the platypus’ nature as a unique or iconic Australian animal. Ric Butt has further designed a series of passive solar building that is unique and contains organic style. The houses on the other hand are designed in a way reflecting the vernacular architecture of Australia.

The design uses a product that has minimal impact in the environment. It incorporated the existing products improvement and has a lifespan of 50 years. The design also has an efficient, sound and a long lasting structure sealed against the weather to minimize the likelihood of the infiltration of the water that is the key culprit that leads to the rotting of the timber. The design addresses the concern of the society, such as the sustainable use of the resources that are natural through sustainability choice.
